What’s cooking

Daily Special is a food trivia game about the memorable meals in movies, TV shows and books. Forget the plot. What was on the plate?

A new set goes up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It’s free and plays in your browser. No account needed.

Every question is written by hand and sent back to the kitchen at least once before it’s served.

FAQ

Ask your server

Is Daily Special free?

Yes. No account, no app, no paywall. Open the site and play.

How often are new food trivia questions served?

Three times a week. A Full Order on Monday and Wednesday, Chef’s Choice on Friday. New sets go up at midnight Eastern.

Is it only movies?

No. Sets pull from movies, TV, cartoons and books, and from food traditions well beyond the usual diner menu.

Can I play earlier sets?

Yes. Open the menu and pick any set that’s already been served. Your best score shows next to each one.

What’s in the anonymous tally?

On your first play of each set, the kitchen notes which answers you picked, whether they were right and how long they took. No names, emails, accounts or IP addresses are saved with them. Your browser gets a random ID, and clearing your browser data resets it. The numbers flag what’s too easy, too hard or confusing, so the questions and menu stay well seasoned.

Who’s in the kitchen?

One hungry fan, cooking at home. Daily Special isn’t affiliated with any brand, studio or publisher it mentions.

Can I talk to the manager?

Please send all feedback or questions to dailyspecial.menugmail.com.
